YOUTH – CONFIRMATION
Confirmation has been a part of the Lutheran tradition from the mid-1500’s. Many churches offer a program to help teens focus on the elemental teaching of the faith in order to better prepare them in their personal walk with the Lord. At Living Water Lutheran, we offer a two-year program specifically designed for teens 5th grade and older along with their parents. Youth are encouraged to begin these classes when they and their family are ready to engage in conversations about life and morality that have practical, spiritual and Biblical importance. The first year of the program digs deep into the construction and content of the books of the Bible. The second year looks at the six chief doctrines taught throughout Scripture that Lutherans believe are essential to spiritual growth and Christian discipleship. The classes are all taught by Pastor and are held Sunday afternoons in the church office. The whole family is welcome to attend but it is particularly helpful if at least one parent, a godparent or a grandparent attends as well. Resources and study material are all provided by the parish.
